Pioneer Bank Announces New Chief Financial Officer
Patrick Hughes joins Pioneer, brings decades of financial experience to a growing organization and its customers

COLONIE — Pioneer Bank announced today Patrick Hughes as the bank’s new Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President. Hughes comes to Pioneer with considerable industry expertise and will assume the responsibility of overseeing Pioneer’s financial operations. He joins the organization during a time of strategic growth and expansion, marked by the recent opening of a new headquarters in Colonie.
Patrick Hughes has garnered a professional reputation for developing organizational vision and future growth, as well as reviewing and executing strategic initiatives and best practice approaches to company operations. For the past 20 years, Mr. Hughes has been with UHY Advisors, one of the nation’s leading professional services firms, where he was a trusted advisor to a variety of clients in the public and private sectors while specializing in the financial services industry. Hughes has served as a Managing Director of UHY Advisors and a Partner of UHY LLP for the past 10 years, during which he oversaw the firm’s National Financial Services practice.
Mr. Hughes is transitioning into the role of CFO, currently held by CFO and Executive Vice President Dave DeLuca, who will be enjoying retirement in February after a successful decade with Pioneer Bank. During his tenure, Mr. DeLuca earned recognition as a consummate professional, and was named the Albany Business Review CFO of the Year in 2010. He looks forward to his retirement and spending time with his family.

Mr. Hughes is a Certified Public Accountant and also holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation. He is a member of the American Institute and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is an associate member of the Independent Bankers Association of New York. He was named one of the region’s rising stars with the “40 Under 40” award from the Albany Business Review. Mr. Hughes is actively involved in the community and currently serves on a number of local boards including Vanderheyden Hall and Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is also on Siena College’s Board of Advisors.
