New 60,000-square-foot headquarters will consolidate our staff under one roof, allowing us to better serve our growing customer base

COLONIE, NY — Our leadership team and First Columbia's leadership team were joined by local and state officials today at the corner of Albany-Shaker Road and Wolf Road in Colonie to break ground on our future 60,000-square-foot Pioneer Bank headquarters.
This move from our current headquarters in Troy is the result of our continued growth in the Capital Region, and will allow our team—as well as our Municipal and Financial Services team members—to work under one roof.
“This is a momentous day and a major milestone in the 125-year history of Pioneer Bank,” said Tom Amell, our President and CEO. “We would like to thank the Town of Colonie, the town Planning Department and our partners at First Columbia for helping us to create a new headquarters that will be customized to create a world-class working environment, which will in turn help us to be a bank that is easy to do business with.”
The majority of our 115 employees who presently work out of three offices will make the transition to the new headquarters. The new headquarters will feature 60,000 square feet of office space across four floors. We plan to move into the building by late spring or summer of 2016. Approximately 9,000 square feet of retail space will be available for lease on the first floor.
“We are pleased to celebrate this important day and this major project, which represents a significant investment in our community,” said Kevin Bette, President and CEO of First Columbia. “We look forward to working with our partners at Pioneer Bank to complete a headquarters that will meet all of their needs, and that will also positively contribute to the prosperity of this corridor in the Town of Colonie.”
With the opening of the new Headquarters’ Banking Center and the future opening of a branch in downtown Schenectady,we will have 19 conveniently located branches throughout the Capital Region. We will continue to operate the bank branch located at its current headquarters, located at 21 Second Street in Troy.
We announced in August the sale of the Hendrick Hudson Building at 200 Broadway in Troy to Keenan Center LLC, owned by Bonacio Construction. Keenan Center plans to convert much of the space to residential apartments, and retain the building’s current tenants. We are still seeking a buyer for 21 Second Street and 25 Second Street.
With 17 branches throughout the Greater Capital Region, our dedication to providing customers with a convenient, highly personalized level of customer service is matched only by our commitment to the values upon which it was founded. A bank firmly rooted in its local history, the Pioneer philosophy revolves around conducting business responsibly, personal investment in employees and giving back to the communities they serve.
